The Phillips GoGear Vibe 4GB Video MP3 Player with a 1.5” LCD screen is a quality buy for all non tech-savvy consumers. The MP3 player is about 4.5 inches in height and 2.5 inches in width, weighing in at somewhere around 1ounce. The player holds up to 900 MP3 tracks including any songs downloaded from music off of a CD. A built-in microphone for voice recording, FM radio with 20 preset stations, 25 hours of music playback, 4 hours of video playback, ability to directly charge by USB port from your computer make this player a miniature version of what I would like to call ‘minitainment (miniature + entertainment) at your fingertips.’
When I first used the product I was somewhat set back by all the resource folders on the main menu screen. Once I began playing with the MP3 player I realized it was anything but difficult, it was just the opposite, completely user-friendly.
From the main menu you can access music, videos, pictures, FM radio, recordings, folder view, and settings which include date and time adjustments, sleep timer, language, slide show settings, and much more.
For the screen to only be 1.5 inches it is a very crisp, clear screen resolution. I do not know that I would recommend watching any videos on here if you have below 20/20 eye vision, but for pictures this would be a great resource. I downloaded several pictures of my children with ease and was very impressed by the picture quality on the screen.
The only downfall of this product is the use of the keys. The key pad is extremely small and if you have big fingers or are trying to use this in dark lighting it is very difficult to see. You can very easily hit one button while trying to hit another, it just takes a while to figure out what works best.
If you are new to the MP3 player world and would like a product that is user-friendly this is the product for you. Phillips made this product with children, seniors, and non tech-savvy consumers in mind. If you are someone who has no problem handling all the extras, buttons, and instructions galore that go into a pricey MP3 player, you will not find that in this player.
